Daniel Mullings

Director of Culture & Managing Coach

Daniel Mullings is a first-generation Jamaican-Canadian who grew up in the vibrant yet challenging community of Scarborough. His journey into basketball began at the young age of 7, and it quickly became clear that the sport would shape his future. Daniel’s exceptional athleticism set him apart throughout his high school years, earning him a scholarship with the New Mexico State Aggies, where he further developed his skills and gained significant recognition.

His basketball career took him across the globe, playing professionally in countries such as Germany, China, Israel, and more. Over nine years as a professional athlete, Daniel not only excelled on the court but also gathered invaluable life experiences that shaped his perspective on wellness and personal growth.

As Daniel transitions from his basketball career, he is channeling his passion and knowledge into building the Unlocked Soulz brand. As a mindfulness life coach, he is dedicated to making a positive impact on youth from marginalized communities, especially those in Scarborough. Through Unlocked Soulz, Daniel leverages the lessons he’s learned on and off the court to teach young people the importance of mindfulness as a daily practice, empowering them to achieve overall wellness and success in life.

In addition to his work with Unlocked Soulz, Daniel serves as the Managing Coach for Northball Academy. In this role, he is on a mission to create a safe and supportive environment for basketball students while working to transform the culture of basketball and coaching. Daniel’s commitment to changing the game, both literally and figuratively, reflects his deep dedication to nurturing the next generation of athletes.
